It’s not just the fact that it’s a methodology. Many programmers also say it’s a mindset. I can see why. There is a lot of frustration about the way our brains work and are wired to do. Once you learn a method, it’s hard to unlearn. But when you start to use it, it can be hard to get back to the real world, to focus on the tasks and tasks that matter.

I guess one way to deal with that is to keep working on a method until you get the hang of it. And, as the saying goes, if you take the time to learn the method, you will always get the hang of it. But I think there is a more basic reason why so many programmers tell you to study that method and learn it. They say that to you it’s like a piece of paper that you can just read and understand.

Yeah, I know I often get confused when I see people start to “get the hang of” something. There’s no “learning” here. We’re not starting from scratch, we’re just starting the method. A lot of that is just a matter of working through the method. As long as you stick to the method, the results will be there. There’s no big learning curve, and it’s all about consistency.

For example, in our sorting study, we wanted to see how the method worked for one of the most important things in life — sorting. We wanted to know if there were any areas that could be improved. It turns out that there is a method that works well for both sorting and sorting as a whole.

However, computers have become so fast that the sort of sorting that they do, is far too fast for the human brain to handle. It is, therefore, a tool of the programmers.
