What they do love, though, is the new game mechanics.
With Deathloop, they’ve got a new stealth system called “The Wind in the Willows.” It’s a system that lets you move as fast as you can through all sorts of obstacles, so you can just keep walking until you get to someone. On the other hand, it also lets you see people sneaking around, so it can be a challenge. There’s a couple things to keep in mind when trying to sneak around.
The first is, just like with Deathloop, you can’t sneak without actually moving. So don’t try to sneak past people who are standing in front of you. And make sure you’re not sneaking into someone who’s on a ledge, because that’s not the sort of move you want to make. The main issue with this new system is that there’s a lot more “no-nos” in the game than there used to be.
The new system is also very light on what its actually doing. It’s not really a puzzle, so you can just get yourself into the same situation again and again until you see a lock. There’s a lot of sneaking around in the game too, so you can just use the map to keep track of what you need. Or you can just use the map to find where the lock is, then sneak past the locked door.
The game also lacks a few of the things it had in its previous iterations. For instance, the wind in the willows is actually a mechanic, not a gameplay mechanic. So if you want to play the game like you used to, you won’t be able to just use the wind to move around. It will be something more than that though, and the entire mechanic is still explained to you.
The wind is also a place that is where you’ll find a few of the puzzles that I mentioned above. It’s also where the main storyline of the game takes place in.
