Many people are guilty of this. They aren’t aware of the extent of their own ignorance. They’ll go to the gym and then immediately forget that they did that, never considering that they went to the gym. They’ll go down the street and then not think about it, never considering that they are in their car. They’ll do something and then not consider that they did that, never considering that they’re doing it.
This behavior is not uncommon. But it comes with the territory of being a human. Humans are very bad at memory and forget about things that are absolutely crucial to our survival. People make decisions without knowing it, because they don’t have to consider the consequences of their actions. And that’s why we’re all constantly replaying our lives in our heads.
There are so many other things we do that we dont even know about because we forget to take the time to think about it. In the case of Colt being on Deathloop, he’s not even sure he’s supposed to be on the island. And in the case of the Visionaries, they don’t even remember they’re supposed to be there.
We, as gamers and fans of tabletop games and video games in general, have long wondered why we like so many of the games we play so much. It might be because we love the design of the game, the game mechanics, the story, the characters, or the world. But we have also wondered why we find so many games so interesting. We like games with complex storylines, characters with depth and nuance, or worlds that make us think and question everything we are told.
Games like that are called “s” games. Most of the time, game designers use this word without much thought. But, what most game designers fail to realize is that s games can be about anything and everything. They might look like a game, but they might be about something else entirely. They might be about some other game, or they may just be about something completely different.
For example, s games can be about a character’s relationship with a parent or a sibling or a friend. Or they might be about being a part of a group of people who are all part of a larger community. Or they could be about the death of an individual, or about the way a person acts or reacts when they know they are dying.
The first step in the process of s images is to make it clear that a s image is more than just a game. It’s about the way a character acts or reacts when they know they will die, and it’s about what you can do to change that. That’s the point.

We’ve been seeing a lot of examples of s images recently lately (especially with the use of video as the medium). And with the increased popularity of the s image process, I think its only a matter of time before we see the rise of video as the medium for s images.
