The same problem exists with the plastic in your coffee mug. The reason that plastic coffee mugs are so widely available is because they are cheap and easy to keep clean. However, because they are made from single-use plastic, they cannot be recycled. The only way to get rid of them is to throw them out. However, because they are made from plastic, that means you have to buy new ones.

Even though plastic is cheap and easy to recycle, it is not completely free of problems. If you are looking for a good place to store your old plastic mugs, at least look around. A lot of places that you think are cheap are in fact not. They’ll charge you extra for a second, third, or fourth one. Also, many of these places are not accepting new mugs. So if you want one, you will have to bring one in.

So if you want a reusable cup, you are going to have to buy new ones. Most plastic mugs are made using PET, which is not recyclable either. So if you have an old mug, you will really have to look around.
