The first time I booked a hotel in London it was a bit of a surprise. After I had checked in and was told that I could get a free facial and body wrap, I asked for a free massage to be sent to my room. The concierge sent me a text telling me that the spa was out of a certain treatment and asking me to try something else. The only treatment that was available was the facial, so I sent him back a message asking for the massage again.

The same procedure is supposed to happen at a spa in London. The concierge is not aware of this though, so when I send the request, he responds with a text saying that he’s sorry, but he can’t give me the massage because of the spa’s policy. In another, slightly more disturbing conversation, he tells me that he’s not going to give me a massage because the spa is a sex tourism place and that he doesn’t want to be a part of it.

I’m really not a fan of sex tourism, but I get why he feels as though his behavior is out of line, especially with a place like that. It’s a shame because the spa he refers to actually does provide a massage, and I’m sure he really is very sorry about that, but I doubt he would have gone out of his way to send me a message saying that his behavior is out of line if he didn’t want to be a part of it.

A few weeks ago our friends at The London Travel Blog spotted a hotel called Hotel Luxury in London City Centre and they sent us a picture of it.
