I think we all have heard the phrase “domicile is where you live.” That has been a big point of contention among many people in the past, and I’m always grateful for the debate. However, it is more than a matter of “I live here, I am a homeowner”. It is much more than that. It is a matter of “I live here and I am not a resident.

I am not sure what you are confused about. The act of living is a very individual thing. For instance, you may live in your parent’s home, but you are not a resident of their home. You certainly can’t be a resident of someone else’s home, because that is where you live. In the same way, a resident of a domicile may live in a home you own, but not be a resident of your home.

Homes and residences are two different things. A person who lives in A, but is not a resident of B, is a domicile. A person who lives in a home, but is not a resident of a residence, is a residency.

A domicile is where you live at the same time that you are a resident of it. A residence is where you live in the same place you are a resident of it. A residence is the place you are a resident of.

A domicile is one of the easiest residence types to own, as it is not much more complicated than renting a house from an estate agent. But unlike a house, a domicile can be taken over by a non-resident. A non-resident can move in, change the name of the residence, and start over, all without the owner ever knowing.

You can actually be a non-resident and then move in and take possession of a domicile. But you can’t do that with a residence. There are some exceptions to this rule, but generally, you can only move in yourself and take possession of a residence if you have a contract giving you the right to do so.

This brings us to the concept of domicile and residence. A residence is the place where a person lives, and is the real home of that person. A domicile is the place where someone lives and owns their life. People can own their residences and have other people move in and live there. But for the most part, you can only move into a residence once you’ve paid the property tax.
